Covidien TED Black Knee Length Anti-Embolism Stockings for Continuing Care
Because the risk of developing thromboembolic diseases like deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or pulmonary embolism (PE) can continue for up to six weeks after being discharged from hospital, it's vital that you can properly reduce the risk of these potentially fatal events occurring.
The Covidien TED Black Knee Length Anti-Embolism Stockings for Continuing Care have been developed to reduce the risk of thromboembolic diseases developing in recuperating patients though a graduated compression pattern, helping increase blood flow rates to prevent blood clots forming in the leg.

Clinically Proven to Reduce Thromboembolic Diseases
TED stockings are the only anti-embolism stockings which have been clinically proven to reduce the risk of thromboembolic disease, where blood clots (which most commonly form in the leg) break free. From there they can travel to the lungs where they obstruct the pulmonary arteries, restricting blood flow.
To effectively reduce the risk of clots developing, the stockings utilise a graduated compression pattern to encourage blood to quickly move through and back up the leg, helping to reduce the chance of blood clots forming in the leg and reducing the risk of fatal pulmonary embolisms.
Designed for Comfort
As well as being highly effective, the stockings are also incredibly comfortable to wear. All Covidien TED continuing care stockings are latex free, reducing the risk of allergic reactions, and also feature a closed toe, making them feel comfortable and natural on your feet.
What Level of Compression do the TED Stockings Provide?
The Anti-Embolism Stockings for Continuing Care feature different levels of compression on various parts of the leg. This is as follows:
- Upper thigh: 8mmHg
- Lower thigh: 10mmHg
- Popliteal: 8mmHg
- Calf: 14mmHg
- Ankle: 18mmHg
